Low Tide

The other day I took Vance and the kids to Tolmie Park here in Olympia. It is so amazing how you can be driving through a forest of trees and not know there is a lake a couple of hundred yards to the left or right of you. Anyway I've been to this lake before, but Vance and the kids hadn't. Well I guess the Tide is pretty low around lunch time because when we arrived there was quite a bit of muddy dirt before the water. Ethan and Aidan didn't care and still wanted to play. We had forgotten Aidan's shoes and I hesitated to let him down. Funny thing while Vance and I were disgussing if we should let him play or not Ethan had already made it in the lake and back out. By that time I figured what the heck and let Aidan down. So here are pictures of my boys playing in the mud and water in April!!

Aidan wanting to go out and play but the rocks don't feel so good on the feet.

Ethan coming back for another rock and than will run all the way back to throw it in the lake.

A picture of a thousand words. As I look at this picture I see our lives sometimes. In the background you see a perfect scene of a beach, water and a boat. All you want to do is run to that boat, but that little boy is just standing in the way. :) J/k I love my kids, but man a day on the lake in a boat without them. It would be nice.

Ethan playing in the gross seadweed mud.

Vance and I hanging out at the Lake.

Yes that is my 16 month old sitting in the lake in April!! What can I say he is my Dare Devil.

The boys playing in the stinky mud.

Ethan posing with a handful of mud.

The best part was when they both decided they were too cold to continue playing and cried the whole time to the car and while we stripped them of their gross wet clothes. I guess we'll have to figure out when the tide is higher and the weather is a little warmer to come back.
