Monday Morning The Journey Begins....
We woke up and headed to Portland at 6:00 a.m. Monday Morning. Our flight did not leave until 10:00 so we had to hang out and wait. Luckily in Portland the airport has a playground to entertain the kids!! Yeah!! Can I just tell you the most stressful part about flying is going through security with kids!!! Man I can't hack that part. Once we got past that everything else was smooth.
Aidan enjoying the playground.
Definitely worth the 2 hour drive to Portland.
When it was time to head to the gate we checked in with the flight instructor. We were flying standby so basically we just Stood by!! haha. Anyway we waited and waited and didn't hear our names. Finally as everyone boarded the flight we heard a weird name called and thought "Is that our name??" I headed up to the lady and told her my name. In a panic voice she said "We need to hurry they are waiting. Grab your kids and let's go" I was freaking out as I was rounding everything up and running to the airplane. The nice part I got to sit in First Class, but Vance was stuck with the kids in coach. Luckily Aidan fell asleep and Ethan just watched a movie.

We arrived to the airport in LA at 12:30 or so and come to find out our hotel does not have a free shuttle. So they recommended a shuttle service that supposedly is the "cheapest". Well it was going to cost $16 per person!!!! Uh No thank you. So after much thought we decided to take the shuttle to Enterprise and rent out car two days earlier.
We got the lovely rental and drove to the first place we could think of when you go to California!!!! In-N-Out Burger!!! YUMMY.

I totally agree about going through security with kids - all of us taking shoes off then putting them back on and gathering all our stuff among crowds of people impatiently waiting for us to get out of their way. yuck!
Flying standby has got to be the most death-defying adventure outside of going to the jungle or, like, deep-sea diving. Wow, your boys are getting big!
Now that we are in Vegas, we are loving the In-n-Out! Good choice!
