My first Pet as a mommy!! Besides kids and Husband!! :)

My eyes are continually being opened to the fact that I have boys and boys love bugs, trucks, wrestling and FROGS!!!

The other day I pulled into my driveway and got out to open the garage door.  Well at that moment something jumped away from me and startled me quite a bit.  I looked down and lo and behold a frog was jumping in my garage.  My first reaction was to grab Ethan's small bug cage and throw it on top of the frog.  No I did not touch it!!  I quickly snagged the boys with excitement knowing they would engage in some joy.  Yes they were jumping for joy!!  First thing Ethan says "Mom I call Lysha and tell her" Elysha is our babysitter that the boys LOVE.  Ethan calls her "Mama Lysha" Needless to say it was 9 in the morning and I knew she would not be awake yet.  I found a container with a lid, poked some holes and got the little frog in it.
The fun part was going to Pets-Mart and getting the supplies to properly house our new pet.  The lady was fabulous to show us the equipment needed.  We hurried home and I put together his home.  I ask Ethan was we should name him and he says "Frog"  I tried to explain the naming factor, but didn't quite understand it.  So I came to the conclusion he should be called "Jumper" because he continually jumps around the cage.

Ethan admiring his new pet.

Here is Jumper our new Frog.

Ethan just as much into the crickets as he was into the frog.

Added some ground cover and a plant.

Here is the original container he lived in for a moment.

I think I can handle this pet because it is contained.  All I have to do is make sure Ethan keeps it in the cage or I will cry.  I can only imagine a jumping frog and crickets loose in my house.  AAAHHH Gross.

Oh heather you are so cute! I don't know what I would do with boys! Although, I am sure they make life interesting! You are such a cute mom! Your boys are so lucky to have you!

You are BRAVE! I don't think I would do that! My sister-in-law was here this summer and a frog got inside - I ran for cover while she had to trap it by herself!

Frogs are the best pets! We had a time where we had to keep rotating the frogs we caged, for new ones from outside, just so I wouldn't feel so guilty about keeping them. Korban would feed them by catching flies from the windowsill with his BARE hands...talk about gross! (I still don't quite know how he does it). Remind me sometime to tell you about the 'already eaten and still buzzing fly story' sometime!
