This year for the 4th we decided to head to the beach. First things first though we headed to the Farmers Market and enjoyed some Crab Cake Eggs Benedict!! mmmmmmm good. We skipped the parade this year and drove to the beach instead. This is so far off the traditional scale, but I think we managed to enjoy ourselves anyway.
The traffic to the beach was crazy, but we got there, found a spot and set up camp.
Uncle Nick and his Calvin Klein shot.
Not quite sure what's up with this.
Always fun to see masses amounts of horses.
Ethan ran to the beach without hesitation. This kid loves it. When he was little he feared the water coming at him. Now he can't get enough of it.
Nick and Megan.
It's scary how fast the water gets to you though.
Our day camp site.
The water taking Ethan out.
Quite the scowl on that face.
Vance attempting to fly the kite and Aidan hesitating to come to the water.
Coming a little closer.
Run Ethan here it comes.
I just love the beach and how pretty it is.
Ethan sinking his feet in the sand.
He's getting daring.
haha j/k kidding he says.
He is just begging for trouble
Waiting!!
Ethan and his buddy Uncle Nick
They never grow up.
Lovin the sand
Oops the water got a little closer than he expected.
Needless to say it didn't keep him away.
Back to the cars to get dirty in the sand.
Building sand castles.
Or just building hills and kicking them down.
People were dumb enough to do fireworks during the day. Anyway the boys are playing with the bottle rocket sticks.
Vance got the kite up.
Mom staying warm.
Aidan was doing this and singing "Swim, Swim, Swim"
Grandpa's turn to fly.
Megan playing in the sand.
Her creations.
Pretty nasty picture. That's what happens when you put your head in sand.
We cooked some hamburgers over the Hibachi and I tell you what those were the BEST hamburgers I've had!!!!
We made up a game and the kids loves it.
Hit the bouncy ball with the bats.
Aidan enjoying a hotdog!
Everyone hanging out and enjoying the beach.
My boys having the time of their lives.
I've been to Ocean Shores a few times and I've NEVER seen this many people on the beach. It was crazy, but a lot of fun. There were a ton of kites as well.
The weather was warm and a little windy. It was fun to do something different than the usual parade stuff. After the beach we drove back to my parents.
