Over a month or so ago Ethan brought home a line he needed to learn for the Primary Program. The line was "I strengthen my family when I am helpful" Well we practiced the line a few times and he nailed it right away. I proceeded to tell him he would be saying it in the program in from of the ward. BAD IDEA!! From that moment he said he wouldn't. Hmmm Lovely.
A month went by and he still knew his part, but didn't want anything to do with saying it in front of people. The Friday before the big day he had a primary program practice at the church. I unfortunately had to work so Vance had to take him and Aidan. He sat in the benches and would not have anything to do with going up and sitting with his class. Vance did EVERYTHING from bribing to threatening. Finally he started taking him out of the church and he flipped out!!! Kicking screaming and throwing a temper tantrum. Eventually my friend Alicia Neeley came to the rescue and relieved Vance by taking Ethan away. It took her a moment to calm him down and before you know it he was laughing and having a good time.

Here is Ethan and Alicia bonding.

Ethan decided it was time to join his class up on the stage. He was having a good time now.

Here are all the kids in the primary, Well all the ones that showed up for the practice. Ethan in on the bottom row 1st from the left.

Sunday morning came and before heading to church I explained to Ethan what was going on today. I explained that he will be going up with his class, sing some songs and than say his part. He responded with "But I already did it" Well he was right, but I let him know this was the last time. I said that if he said his part that he would make us ALL very happy and that grandma and grandpa would be there also. I also let him know he did not have to do it, but we would be sad. Also I threw in I would bake some cookies if he went through with it.
We were sitting in the congregation waiting for the program to begin and the whole time Ethan couldn't wait to go up. Finally it was time and he went right up there.
What a wonderful feeling to see your little guys sit there so good and sing the songs when it was time. Also when it was it his turn to say his part he did so well. OH man it was so great to see him go through with it. Granted the rest of the time he was playing some kind of shooting game in his head because it looked like most the people in the congregation were targets. I'm very proud of him. Great job Ethan!!! Thanks to Alicia for helping out.
