Start of an awesome week!!!

On Friday July 2nd my sister arrived at 6:30 pm to my parents house.  I WAS SO EXCITED!! It had been awhile since she has been up here.  Even my kids kept asking when she was coming.

On Saturday morning, first things first, we all met at the Farmer's Market.  You can't begin a vacation in Olympia without first indulging yourself in a Crab Cake Eggs Benedict!! Heavenly I tell you.

After which we took the kiddos down to the Fisherman's Dwarf to throw rocks and check out the boats.

My sister has three kids, McKenna who is on the far right, Brady and Keiren.  Here we have Aidan (my son), Aimee (my brother's daughter, Lara brought for McKenna to have a playmate.) and McKenna.

Here is most the crew, Brady, Aidan, Ethan, McKenna and Aimee

Than there is Keiren who broke his leg a few weeks ago and was stuck riding in the stroller most the time.  What a trooper though.  He hardly made a fuss. He is such a doll also, I came quite attached to him.

The boys trying to find some mussels.

A picture for mom.  Ethan always has the silliest facial expressions when taking pictures.  I hope he grows out of that.

That afternoon we decided to take them to the McLane Nature Walk.  We really enjoy this place.  We found one problem with it. The walkway is too narrow and does now allow five kids to fit across it at the same time.  Apparently they all felt they needed to be in front.  This caused quite the freak outs with them all.  No worries I pulled out the whip and we were back in business.  After that the walk was much more enjoyable.

Is that a real smile Vance or are you ready to go home now?

Towards the end of the walk there are boardwalks that go out in the ponds.  It makes it nice to see the whole thing.  All the kids looking for some critters.

He doesn't seem too happy.  Not sure if it's because I'm taking his picture or because he's stuck in the stroller.  Poor little guy.

Still looking

This is the view of the pond.

In the pond you can see a lot of salamanders.  Ethan decided he wanted to go in and get them.  He told Vance to hold his legs while he scooped it up.  Hmm.. Right!!! He didn't get further than the bottom of the deck before he was screaming.  It was pretty funny.  In fact the girls did the same thing.

Looking for salamanders

I found a turtle.  It was quite exciting

Cousins are the best!!! I have soo many memories with my cousins I hope these kids do as well.

Aidan climbing all over dad.

By the way I had forgotten my camera at my parents house so I was stuck using my phone.  This explains the low quality pictures from the nature walk.
