Road Trip Home!!

We left Utah about 9 in the morning. For the first couple of hours the kids and Vance slept. After that the tension of being in the same car for so long was kicking in and crying, whining and get me out of here's were starting. We new right away this was not going to be a one day trip. So we booked a hotel in La Grande!! I love doing this trip in two days as opposed to one day. The hotel and swimming makes the road trip experience a little worth it.

This is what happens when you mix a 15 month old and a Girl Scout Thin Mint!!!! You do whatever you have to do to minimize the whining.

Vance taught Ethan this trick. What a goof.

Here we are enjoying the pool at to ourselves. I have to tell you what happened though. Reminder I have a 3 year old and a 15 month old. So what does that mean??? Noise!! I guess we were being too loud because the hotel attendant came in and said "Excuse me I'm getting complaints from people above you that there is screaming and too much noise. I'm going to have to ask you to keep it down." Um ok?!?! It was 5 p.m. and we have to be quiet in a pool? Am I the only one that see's a problem with this?? Whatever we just told Ethan that there were people sleeping above us and that seamed to help with the nosie factor, a little anyway. How lame is that?

After swimming and Pizza the kids were completely worn out. Just what we were hoping for. Except staying in a hotel room without a playpen for a 15 month is not very fun. At 4 a.m. Aidan decided it was time to wake up. Umm I don't think so!! So being the smart person I am I made a makeshift play pen with the space between the two beds and my Huge luggage. It seemed to work because he fell asleep and we got to sleep till 7:30. Yeah.

I am with you on the whole lame factor of the Hotel attendant. That is what you are supposed to do when you go to hotels!! And I have to say I am very impressed with your mom skills on the port a crib thing. Good job. And I love the thin mint picture. Who doesn't like thin mints! It looks like you had a lovely trip and that was so fun to see the picture of you and the High school girls. That is so nice that you all still stay in touch. It was fun to see them and of course you! ~Lindy
