4th of July Fun

The Hodo's climbed out of bed and headed out on their 4th of July Adventure about 10:00 a.m. We packed up the bike trailer and kids, then headed to the ward breakfast (which started at 8:30 a.m.) We arrived at the breakfast 2 hours late, oops. OH well we saw a few people as they were heading out. So we proceeded to ride downtown Olympia and had some Crab Cake Benedict's at the Farmers Market!! OH my Gosh these things are to die for. As we ate our delicious crab cakes we sat and watched a local band play some sweet music.

We just arrived at the Farmers Market.
After breakfast we headed down to the water and threw some rocks.
As you can tell the tide was down and we are showing the boys the Barnacles from the water.
Aidan boy checking out the water.

Overlook view from the lake tower.
Family photo from the top of the tower. Be nice I have helmet head.

So after the water we rode to a park and let the kids play for a bit. Then we decided to ride from downtown Olympia to Tumwater Valley Golf Course. They were suppose to be having a big thing going on. They have tons blow up toys and food. Anyway it was about 4 mile ride to the Golf Course and on the way it started to rain. So we stopped and covered the kids and headed onward again. We arrived to the golf course and found shelter till the rain stopped. When it stopped raining we rode to where the toys were suppose to be and nothing was there. Hmmm....

Luckily they had the Port a Potties up for Ethan to go Pee Pee. Here is Aidan loving running around.

Aidan playing Peek-A-Boo in between Port-A-Potties.

Well we found someone that was in charge and come to find out the party doesn't start till 6 p.m. It was 2 at the moment. Hmmm.... What to do for 4 hours? Well we decided we should just head home and get the car.

As we riding home we crossed the street and as we got to the other side we heard this awful screeching noise. I looked over and saw a car screaming through a red like. We stopped and watched this poor old lady get out of her car and look confused. We decided to ride to her and find out if she was OK. She was very confused and all shaken up. She used our cell phone and eventually got someone to pick her up. I guess her brakes locked up on her. Pretty scary. After the old lady experience we headed to Baskin Robbins for some YUMMY Ice cream.

Boys enjoying some of the 31 flavors of ice cream. I had to take Ethan's shirt off because he makes such a mess with ice cream.

After Baskin Robbins we headed out again on our bikes and rode and rode. Finally arriving to our humble home. We figure we rode about 15 miles on our bikes. It was a lot of fun, but very exhausting. We showered and loaded the car will all necessary items, then headed back to the party. It only cost $5 for parking and all the toys were free.

We found our spot and the boys headed out to play.

Me going down the blow up slide. Ethan was very upset with me trying to go down with him. He wanted to be a big boy and go by himself. I was kind of sad myself to realize my baby didn't want his mom to accompany him down the slide. :( I guess they grow up.

The big boy going down all by himself.

Mommy and Aidan has some alone time. We hung out while Vance and Ethan played since I was not welcome to go. :)

Mommy and Aidan watching Ethan play.

Ethan let me join in throwing bean bags around.

A silly family picture of the Hodo's. We had a good time.

They had skydivers at the party. It was pretty cool.

Not sure what's up with Vance's look on his face, but he is with Aidan. It was tough keeping Aidan entertained and in one place.

These boys are enjoying the fireworks. Ethan covers his ears because it's too loud.

Ethan falling asleep during the fireworks.

These two little boys couldn't do it anymore and fell asleep DURING the fireworks.

The view of the fireworks.

Heading out and the kids are still sleeping. I can't believe them.

This is our bike route we took on the 4th. It started at the top right where the letter E is covering Letter A.
