San Luis Here WE come!!!

After we parted Disneyland the caravan of cars headed north to San Luis Obispo where Vance's grandpa lives. It was about a 4 hour drive and for the most part it was right up against the coast. So the view was beautiful.

Vance started to drive and 20 min into driving he was already swerving. I had to take over!!!

We got to San Luis just in time for the Farmers Market. It goes on every Thursday and there a million people, but the food was FAB. Here we all are enjoying some chicken, corn on the cob and garlic bread.

The next day we all got up and headed west to the coast to a place called Hazard Canyon. You park off to the side of the road and walk through a field of Eucalyptus trees. Watch out for the Poisson oak all over.

It was a perfect day, the weather was wonderful.

Once you got out of the eucalyptus trees you come to this breathless view. The ocean is amazingly blue.
And here we are at Hazard Canyon. Unfortunately the tide was high so we couldn't dig through the tide pools for any sea creatures, but it was still fun. Except for the seaweed smell.

Mom and Aidan. So all through Disneyland and all the rides we took Aidan on he NEVER cried. The second I put him down by the water and he sees the water coming towards him he burst into tears. I just don't get him. :)

So this is the hazardous part of this place. If you are not careful waves come out of nowhere and can swallow you right up. I watched this wave come all around Jaromy, Daniel and Emily. It was kind of scary for a moment, but quite the amazing shot.

That big rock in the back is Morro Bay. A place the Hodo's go regularly when they visit San Luis. Just a fun little town by the coast.

There was this little aquarium you could go into for like $2 and you can feed the seals. This Seal was LOUD and barked A LOT!!!

Later that night we head up to Paso Robles East of San Luis about hour and a half away to visit some of Vance's cousins. We also had a family picture taken. Here are the Coombs kids and Grandpa Wight. (Vance's Grandpa)

At Kristin's (Vance's cousin) house there were a ton of frogs around and of course Ethan was in love. He also loved running around with all the boys. He did not want to go home.

Here is a toad they were playing with. We told Ethan to hold it in his hand and he says "No he pees" It was pretty funny.

And Aidan wanted NOTHING to do with it.

We drove to the hotel and the next morning headed back to LA. In the middle of nowhere we run into Gridlock traffic. Stood still for 45 min!!! You know those commercials where people get out of their cars and have bbq's well that's what it was about to look like!!! Needless to say we FINALLY made it to the airport but missed the flight we were hoping to get on. We had to hang at the aiport for a few hours. Which the kids were actually not that bad. UNTIL we got on the flight and Aidan was CRANKY. He cried Bloody murder for an hour straight. I felt SOOO bad for everyone around me and had NO idea what to do. The second we get off the plane in Portland he falls right to sleep on Vance's shoulder. Ha ha of course. Luckily a bunch of people said they knew what I was going through and that's just life. It made me feel so much better. Than we met my parents at the airport and had to drive two more hours north home. We arrived home Sunday at 12:30 a.m. safe and sound.

We had a Blast on our vacation and would do it again in a heart beat. I have season passes to Disneyland so if anyone wants to go with me in the next year let me know!!! :)
