And we are off... Road Trip!

Vance and I packed the car up and headed out Saturday the 30th at 4:30 p.m. for Utah.  This was a non stop trip straight to Utah and yes you are thinking "Are you Kidding Me?" Ha Nope I'm not!!

Ethan getting right into the road trip spirit.

Aidan got an early nap.

A Rare photo of Vance driving. I think 2 minutes after this picture he couldn't hack it and I had to take over. I ended up driving 99% of the way there. Which is actually an accomplishment because I do not care to drive. Especially through the Gorge and the Blue Mountains, but I drove and conquered.

This was the traffic on our way down to Portland. We were driving through Chehalis. We lucked out with traffic.

In our lives we all have our vices and unfortunately this is mine.  Judge if you want but It's what helped me make it through my ALL night drive to Utah. :)

Going Crazy already?!?

Yup definitely losing it.

This was a stop along the Gorge.

When it's actually NOT raining or trying to blow us off the road the Gorge is not so bad to drive along.

You don't find this pretty of a rest stop through Idaho or Utah.

We drove and drove...

.... until the sun started setting.  I got these pictures in my side view mirror while driving. I know Totally insane, but they turned out pretty cool.

Pudding time.  What a happy boy.

Down for the count.

I continued to drive and drive.  For the most part it wasn't so bad.  We made it Twin Falls and I was struggling. I decided to pull off and try to "rest" at a rest stop.  We were there for maybe 45 min and it just wasn't working, but it was enough to get me going again. So we set off for the last few hours.

Proof I made it ALL night here is the Sunrise just outside of Utah.

Vance on the other hand just couldn't hack it. We arrived in Utah at 8:00 am and as we were driving through Ogden I get a call from my brother David.  He said to come by the house and drop the boys off.  So we were all over that!! Deborah my wonderful sister-in-law watched the boys plus her 4 boys while we slept at Lara's house.  What a Saint!! Thank you Deborah.

Wow--great pics! Loved the pics around the gorge--that is my favorite drive--except for the wind too!
