I dreamt I was at the Aspen Grove Campground and my sister-in-law Teri was going on a paid Hike. For some reason she was unable to make it and was trying to convince me to go on the hike in her place. I repeatedly told her I can't because of my hurt foot. The pressure was on and I finally ran away crying and yelling "I can't and I'm not going."
Yes I know what a really lame dream right? Well at Breakfast on Day 3 my brother-in-law Daniel, Teri's wife, proceeded to ask if I was going on a hike with them all. I chuckled at the irony and said No. He than started pressuring me into going saying "you are going Heather" by now I knew Vance had told them the dream, but they really were going on a hike. They weren't as mean as Teri was in my dream, but I did give into peer pressure and went on the hike despite my hurt foot. No Teri you are not that mean in person, but I do fear you a little bit. ;)
So after breakfast and dropping the kids off we headed on our hike. We were told the hike was pretty level with a few ups and downs. As we began the hike we came upon a NOT so small hill.
Here we are as a group hiking one by one.
The view was absolutely magnificent.
Vance and I taken a moment to enjoy the view.
As we were walking we noticed these nest looking things. Yes these are caterpillar nests. I know how disgusting is this??? It makes me sick to even look at the pictures, but I knew I had to show Ethan and all of you. :)
I should post the video I took of it. They were all flipping out moving and flopping all over. Really nasty!!! I apologize for these pictures. hehe
That waterfall on the right is where we are headed.
Lovely.
The trail at the bottom there leads to Sundance Resort.
Getting closer.
A cute picture in front of our destination.
Now like I said before it's natural for us to find some kind of creature along the way especially a snake and lo and behold my brother-in-law Tyler spotted this guy below...
Pretty impressive since it was really hard to pin point what we were looking at.
Vance has no fear and picks it right up. Everyone else was ok NOT touching it.
Putting it back where it belongs. Teri tried to convince Vance to put it in his pocket and take it back!! Vance wussed out. haha
Tyler and Valerie Baker, Heather and Vance Hodo, Teri and Daniel Coomes.
We made it!!! Here we are in front of the waterfall.
Giving a little love.
Cute picture of Teri and Daniel Coomes.
The girls. Heather, Valerie, and Teri.
It was quite the hot spot. A million people there all trying to take pictures. I have to tell you about this certain family that was at the reunion. Now I won't give away the name seeing how I know a lot of Utah people and I would feel insanely bad if anyone knew them. So their name will be kept anonymously, but these people were so annoying and rude. Such hoity toity kind of people. I know that isn't even a real word, but I like to use it. Anyway their whole persona was put off like we are cool and everyone needs to know it. Ok I got that off my chest I can now go on with the blog. Thank you for your sympathy, if there was any. :)
We turned around from that point because we had to make sure we were back in time to pick up our kiddos.
We made it safe and sound. My foot was a little mad at me but I'm glad I went anyway.
Vance here trying to regroup. He did a great job.
So I headed off and picked up Aidan well I thought I was getting Aidan, but this is who I got instead....
Mr. Indian Boy... :) Here he is showing me his hat they made.
What a cute little Indian.
I love the excitement he gets when he sees me or Vance. He screams really loud "HIIII DAAAADDDYYY" So cute.
Cute Katie attempting to back down the stairs but ended up getting high centered.
Teri and Martin.
For the afternoon we girls decided to go and make a necklace. Here we are attempting some fabulous art piece.
I'm a dork I know.
When I went to go pick up Ethan from his group he was wrestling with his group leader.
Here he is just watching.
Jumping from rock to rock.
Aidan just posing for mommy.
Ethan playing Hide and Seek with me.
Ethan showing me his pirate face paint. "Don't touch my cheeks mom they have pokies on it." They drew hooks on his cheeks.
Before dinner we hit up the games in the game room.
Aidan's way of playing air hockey.
Needless to say no one dared to challenge him.
Vance taking a shot at the game.
After a short time in the game room I had my fix and was done. It was over crowded and the boys we just getting into everyone else's games. So off to dinner we went.
Well this was the 3rd and last official day of the camp so they put on a Closing Ceremony for us all. They normally hold them outside in the Amphitheater, but it was quite windy and cold so they held it inside.
They had all the kids come up on stage at different times with their groups. They sang there group song and later came up to sing a song about hero's.
Here the Kittens are singing their cheer. Ethan looking very into it.
The Kittens sang about Policeman, but Ethan was more entertained in playing with the hat than singing.
Here he is covering his face. What a goof.
And once the song was over he gave everyone a bow. Very entertaining.
Ethan with his group leaders. They did such a fabulous job.
Done with closing ceremonies and off to the Family dance.
The Coomes family getting down and dirty. Poor Jaromy looks like he's getting quite the ride.
Unfortunately our kids were beat and we didn't stay long, but I hear we missed quite the show. My brother-in-law Daniel was getting down with his bad self. I'm sad I missed it.
Vance Aidan getting Jiggy with it.
Aidan was too tired to dance
The boys can't hack it.
Miss Gracie I is also the dancer!!
We finally headed to bed and the boys were out super fast.
