I've been slacker on updating all the pictures from my vacation because I've been insanely sick. In fact Saturday my parents brought medicine and some treats over to the house and used face masks because they feared what they might get. Anyway I'm feeling well enough to post and update the blog now.
So Day Two of a True Vacation. I say this because at Aspen Grove not only do they prepare, feed and clean all the meals they also provide childcare for EVERY age. The daily agenda goes as follows.
8:00-9:30 am Breakfast
9:30 - noon Kids go to their groups
Noon lunch
12:30 - 1:30 Free Time
1:30 - 4:30 Kids go to their groups
5:00 Dinner
5:30 - 6:30 Free Time
6:30 - 8:00 Family Activity
Bedtime
So Thursday morning after breakfast we drop the kids to their groups. Aidan was a Stomper and Ethan was a Kitten. They go and do all sorts of fun activities. Ethan still asks if he can go with the Kittens.
Ethan here waiting with his group.
After we drop them off we head out to do whatever we want.
Here my brother-in-law Chad showing us the true form of Shuffle Board.
Now some may say this is an old person game, but it is actually pretty fun. This is one of the many things we look forward to doing while up at Aspen Grove.
Vance showing off his stuff.
Here is most of the Hodo clan Valerie and Tyler Baker, Vance, Chad, Marilyn and Daniel and Teri Coomes. We were just getting ready to head to a mean game of volleyball. Which I will insert pictures later when I receive them. hint hint Teri. ;)
After the Volleyball game we went to lunch. After lunch we had free time so we headed down to the fishing pond. Daniel my brother-in-law was smart enough to get a few poles so we ended up sharing with them.
Jaromy here trying to catch a big game.
This pond is for kids 12 years old and younger. I'm sure Daniel was just "Helping" the kids out. Right Daniel. :)
Aidan taking a turn with the help of Grandpa Hodo
He looks like a true fisher
Naturally a snake was present and Martin, my father-in-law, was able to catch it.
My niece Emily holding with a nervous look on her face.
I feel so bad I don't know this little guys name, but he wanted to hold the snake SOO bad, but was sooo nervous when he did. Too Cute.
My freaking hot Sister-in-law Teri and her daughter Katie.
Vance and Aidan trying a different location at the pond.
Aidan surprises me. For being such a little dare devil he is quite skittish around animals. He wanted to see the snake but not hold it. He must take after his mother in that area.
Gracie is ready to go. Enough of this fishing stuff.
After Ethan's group met for the second round of the day he came back with a bee painted on his face. I had washed his mouth and he was convinced I washed the bee off. So I had to take this picture and show him as evidence that it was still there. This explains the traumatic look on his face.
Aidan went over to the turtles and started playing on them, these people were quite entertained by him. It was really cute. We attempted a grandkid picture. A few of them turned out pretty cute.
I love how Katie is looking up like what's going on.
This isn't so bad other than Ethan is not smiling.
The entire Wight family reunion met in a big room in the Lodge. Here Chad showing us all how entertaining it was.
Vance's grandpa is Glen Wight and he is the one that makes this whole reunion happen. I think there were 3 or 4 people that couldn't make it.
During the get together we realized the Frontier Days were going on so we left and headed for the big field area.
Here my nieces Gracie and Emily with dad Daniel riding the train.
Jaromy in front.
Now it's our turn to go for a ride.
Vance taking a "stab" at the Axe throwing.
My turn and yes I stunk at this. It is a lot harder than it looks.
Ethan and Aidan du-king it out with some big punchers.
Ethan challenged dad at it.
Ethan and Aidan waiting patiently for their turn.
Ethan trying to get the frisbee through the barrels.
Aidan's turn
Ball toss in the milk can
What a couple of cheaters.
Taking a ride on the horses
They got to take a chance at becoming a sheriff by hitting the cans. They passed.
At the end of all the games we headed back to receive the last two snow cones.
