In our ward the Varsity boys planned a trip to climb Mt. Ellinor and extended the invitation to everyone. So Vance and I decided to take the challenge. I'd have to say it was one of the hardest yet most fulfilling things I've done.
Here was the group that went up. It ranged from young to old, beginner to expert and we all had a great time.
On our ride up I got a glimpse of Mt. Washington. Here you can see George Washington's profile looking up.
We parked our vehicles and this was the view from it.
Oh yes I am ready to go
People getting ready to roll
Seriously I said I am ready to go

Heading up this isn't too bad
We stopped at the bottom of the chutes and this is where we came from
We don't need the trekking poles anymore
Here's looking at what we get to hike up. That's not showing what's after the top there.

Now the fun part. This is called Glissading.. You sit on your bum and ride the snow back down the mountain.
You use your ice axe to help you stop and slow down. It is so much fun!!!
This is what happens when you have cheap rain pants on when you glissade down a mountain!!
Now we walk the rest of the way down
It took us about 4 hours to climb up the mountain and about 30 min to get back down. It was so much fun. I think I've found a new love. I'm going to be heading out on hikes more often. I'm so glad Vance and I did this. It was great to have to the time together without the boys.
